Patrck Swayze Passes Away

Patrick Swayze, aged 57, well-known for his role in the movie Ghost has passed away.  He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008. He died on Monday.

He fought hard against the disease, and even continued working during his struggle. He had a lead role in the TV series The Beast.

His role in Ghost, a supernatural romantic thriller, which also starred Demi Moore, captivated audiences worldwide.  Whoopi Goldberg played a well-received supporting role as semi-fake medium.

Swayze first became something of a sensation in the earlier film Dirty Dancing in 1987.

Woody Harrelson As Bizarre Superhero In Defendor

A new film to be shown at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival is an independent production called Defendor. It stars Woody Harrelson. He plays the role of a man who takes on the role of a superhero fighting the injustices inflicted upon us all by the elusive villainous Captain Industry. He calls himself the Defendor.

Seems like it may be a promising movie.  I have always found Woody Harrelson to be a pretty bizarre actor, but quite engaginly so, and to see him in this bizarre role is getting two for the price of one, doubly injurious to your health.
